Former Pupils at Uckfield School return as Teaching Assistants

Posted on: 01/11/2011

Ellice Clark and Kane Westlake, both aged 16, will be studying for a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning while working with Campus Training.

They will have regular sessions with a tutor while getting 'on the job' training in school, mentored by Manor staff.

Head teacher Margaret Coleman said: "I am truly delighted that between us we can offer this opportunity to Ellice and Kane to start their careers through the Apprenticeship Scheme.
As we read every day in the newspapers, getting your foot on the first rung of employment and training is so much tougher now for our young people. We are really excited to be able to offer an alternative route for them.
This is a new experience for us too and we are looking forward to being able to provide similar opportunities for other apprentices in the future."
