Business Administration and Management


Business Administration Level 2
Level 2 covers a range of administrative skills consisting of mandatory units and optional units. Candidates must achieve all mandatory units and a number of optional units for a full NVQ. It is not necessary for candidates to achieve Level 1 before progressing to Level 2. Candidates may enter at a level which is appropriate to their needs.

Business Administration Level 3
The aim of this Qualification is to recognise the skills and competences of candidates in the workplace. It provides individuals with a opportunity to demonstrate the skills and knowledge needed for a career in Business Administration.

Team Leading Level 2
Not a management qualification but a stepping-stone into supervisory skills and management. Intended for employees who are entering management or have the ability and opportunity to demonstrate recognizable ‘management’ skills. Candidates could be organizing and communicating information; working with others; leading teams; planning use of time or equipment etc. Candidates should not easily be able to meet the requirements for NVQ ‘Management Level 3’.

Management Level 3
This qualification is broadly aimed at supervisors who are responsible for the control of activities and work output of small teams. While this includes roles such as senior charge hand and junior office manager, the qualification is not solely aimed at a discrete level of organizational hierarchy.

Management Level 4
Management Level 4 is a qualification aimed at individuals with more autonomy in their management role than the level 3 supervisors. Although people at this level are often referred to as ‘first line managers’, individuals may find the focus of their work is more to do with managing projects, or with technical matters, than with people.
