A National Vocational Qualification is an award that is earned through the effective execution of your everyday work duties. NVQ’s are sets of ‘standards’ for job roles that are recognised throughout Industry and Commerce as they assess the skills, knowledge and abilities needed in a particular occupation. In short you will “Learn by Doing”.

As a measure of working competence the NVQ does not rely on high academic achievement and everyone, even those who found that their schooldays were not the best days of their life, can achieve it. Through a policy of Equal Opportunities these qualifications are open to all irrespective of which shift you work on, whether you have English only as a second language, have need of improving your Literacy, Numeracy or IT skills or have any other special requirement.
